I had originally searched for a local company to clean and maintain my pond as I was really struggling to keep the water clear and free from blanket weed. I found YGP Pond Services and emailed them to ask if they could help.
Aigars came out to meet me and we quickly discovered that the pond design just wasn’t right and would be a constant battle to keep clean with its shallow depth and current filtration system. I explained that if he could propose the right design, I would happily have the pond rebuilt and done properly. I wasn’t after a quick, cheap fix. I’d always wanted a professionally built pond with a wow factor, and that’s exactly what I’ve now got.
The new design comprised of bottom drains, skimmers, UV, and a huge natural gravel filter. Aigars’ technical knowledge is extensive and the new system works beautifully with minimal maintenance. Our rock waterfall also needed rebuilding as the existing one leaked badly. I must admit, I was nervous at first as to how artistic they would be in rebuilding it. I’d previously put a lot of time in placing the rocks carefully to make it look as natural as possible. Despite it leaking, it did look quite good. Once Aigars and his team had finished building the new one, it really put mine to shame! It looks fantastic and doesn’t leak a drop.
The pond is now around 8 months old and the water is perfectly clear with not a hint of weed. I’m so pleased I chose Aigars and his team to completely rebuild it, as it would have never looked this good, no matter how often we cleaned the old one. I didn’t know Aigars before, and as usual, you take a chance hiring any company. I really made the right choice, and I don’t know of another company in this area that can produce work at this quality, it’s outstanding. You won’t be disappointed. Just a quick note to let you know how delighted I am with the work you did on my large pond. I have been in the house over 7 years, and inherited the pond, which had green water when we moved in. I have tried everything, including having work done on it by 2 other companies. The water soon turned green again.
However, since you have overhauled the pond, it has remained beautifully clear, to the point where I have had to get a decoy heron to stop my fish being eaten, since they are completely visible now.
